In the past five years, my team and I were driving the digital transformation for our 100.000 employees at Albert Heijn. Doing more work with less and stay a frontrunner in operational efficiency and retail technology in Europe.
I started as a freelance consultant in 2020 and successfully finished the first assignments at Jumbo supermarkets and AS Watson.
Developed and implemented a digital production plan for a bakery department. An integrated learning environment and monitoring of central and local KPI’s. Better availability and lower costs.
Developing an autonomous store with full frictionless checkout. First Amazon Go-like store in Europe.
Developed on-shelf availability deep-dive methodology to discover the true reason for empty shelves in your store. We create thousands of data points in-store with an app. And use this for a fact-based root cause analysis.
Electronic Shelf Labels are not new, the way we used the technology to improve the store execution and lower the costs is. Build a solid Business Case and roll out fast.
Designed and build an app for the main operational activities in the stores. Enable the employees to do their work on the shop floor. Improve operational execution at lower costs. And winning a Dutch Interactive Award.
Developed a quick scan for self-checkout performance. Based on feedback from 10+ retailers and suppliers. Will provide the current performance, findings, opportunities and a development roadmap.
Developed a full self-checkout platform: handheld scanner, scan & go and a customer app. Tripled the number of users up to 3 million a week at the end of 2018.
Full redesign of the shelf fulfillment process and related employee app design. Get grip on backroom stock, better on-shelf availability and fewer hours spent. Done for Albert Heijn and a large health & beauty chain.
Design for an in-store-picking solution. Including process design, workforce model, in-store app, replenishment integration, and customer service.
Designed and implemented in-store and stand-alone pick-up points in supermarkets for on-line shopping. For groceries as well as third party delivery.
Implementing a workforce management solution. Build and design new labor models for 900 million of annual labor costs.
Shrink reduction taskforce: set process KPI’s, create actionable insight and adjust commercial & replenishment parameters. Combined with a smart markdown tool.
Double-digit shrink savings within a year.
On-shelf availability program, including smart shelves and the first autonomous robot in Europe with image recognition for out of stock detection.
Safe and efficient cash handling solution to prevent theft and reduce costs.
Realtime insight into cash difference and multi-million annual savings on running costs.
